Programming Instruction

& game development mentorship

With Gameplay Systems Developer

Aaron Goodwin

Learn programming in C++/C# using modern game development tools such as Visual Studio and Unity

Instructional Services

I provide two different learning services:

  • Small group instruction that focuses on students in middle/high school who want to secure their future programming career in the competitive software industry

  • One-on-one tutoring for university students pursuing computer science-related degrees

Small Group Coding

  • 4 students per group

  • Hosted at my home office in beautiful Saddle Creek

  • 35$/session per student

Your student will learn programming through game development alongside their peers with small group sizes that provide individual attention while encouraging collaboration and shared problem-solving

Over 6 weeks, we will cover core programming concepts such as logic,
data types, and object-oriented design while building simple games and interactive systems using industry-standard development tools like
Visual Studio and Unity

What your student
will need

Laptop

  • Windows preferred for uniform instruction, but not required

  • Suggestions for good coding music!

Laptops provided by Fulton County Schools WILL work!

District devices are already approved for the programs I teach with (primarily Visual Studio)

Email Account

  • Any standard free email account is acceptable

  • I recommend mail.com; simple with minimal features

Technology your student will learn

Visual Studio

Visual Studio / VS Code
Microsoft's own programming environment used by developers to write, test, and organize code for games and software

Unity Engine
Popular game development engine that allows your student to build interactive games and learn coding skills using C#

GitHub
Professional code management platform that allows your student to safely store their projects, track progress over time, and access their work from any computer

One-on-One Tutoring

  • Willing to meet offsite

  • 45$/hour (flexible for tight budgets)

  • 55$/hour for crunch sessions

1-on-1 tutoring offers personalized instruction tailored to each student’s experience level, interests & goals

Sessions can focus on foundational programming skills, game development projects, school coursework support, or deeper exploration of topics such as algorithms, data structures, and software design

You Will Need The Following

  • A laptop/PC (all course-related tech)

  • Related coursework & materials

  • Desired location (if offsite/on-campus)

Flexible tutoring costs

I understand that while all university students may need help, not all of them can afford the extra expense. I am willing to work with students with a tight budget.

On-Call Service

I know full well that sometimes a project crashes out right before a deadline, so I also offer on-call tutoring for university students.I will help recover and repair lost work, resolve gaps in understanding and assist in debugging major roadblocks in order to help keep you on track.
